Introduction
These “prayer moments” have been put together to help the group on its days of pilgrimage. They are short and focused to enable them to be done in different circumstances. Not every place of pilgrimage will favour the sort of prayer you may wish.
The prayers also follow a pattern which may be helpful:
- Orientation: This sets the tone and the theme of the day’s pilgrimage prayer
- Reading: The reading will come from a Marist source, often the Mayet Memoirs.
- Reflection: This is a space provided for the leader of the prayer to give some personally thought-out reflection for the group. This will need preparation in advance by the leader of the prayer of the day. At the same time, it may not be necessary or possible for this reflection to take place.
- Prayer Intention: A focused intention is presented for any spontaneous prayer the group may wish to make.
- Hymn / Song: Some short hymns, canticles or verses.
